ABOUT ME…

Many many years ago now, a friend of mine mentioned that she was just planning to ask guests to bring cameras to her wedding rather than hire a photographer since they were on a really tight budget. (With apologies to all the other professional wedding photogs out there…) I volunteered to play photographer for the day because I love to take photos, and we were going to be guests at her wedding anyway. The photos from that wedding, as it turned out, were awesome. It was super hard - mad respect - but I had a blast. I've loved photography since I was a kid, so making it my everyday gig was a natural fit and a bit of a dream come true. When my daughter was born a few years later and daycare costs became insurmountable, I quit my job to pursue photography full time.

So...here I am! Hi. I am pleased to offer my camera and my eye to NYC (area) couples, families, companies, and individuals to make incredible photos.

A few things about me:

I am a mom of two crazy kids, 7 & 11 years old, and there’s nothing I love more than taking pictures of my own family. I take photos of families with that in mind, and I want to give you photos that I would be happy to receive if they were of my own family. I never got professional maternity photos done while I was pregnant with my first child - until I figured out how to do it for myself. Now I adore making maternity portraits. I will make you feel like a goddess. I also have some regrets about not getting more professional photos taken when my family was in its earliest days - especially during that hazy newborn phase - mostly because I thought I simply couldn’t afford it. I absolutely love photographing kiddos and I have a ton of experience with wriggling and wrangling from newborns to teens, and I completely respect kids’ needs, their delicate feelings, and their demanding schedules (parents, too…I got your back!)

Before becoming a mom I was a struggling actor for many years so I know what to look for in a good portrait, and I recognize that it can be difficult to keep up with fresh, gorgeous performer headshots on a regular basis. I also spent many years in corporate America, and I can still easily insert myself into that world, as well. I've done lots of executive headshots and entire companies' corporate/product websites. Be sure to check my professional page to see more, and contact me to discuss your project. Do I photograph events? You bet! Give me a shout to discuss the specifics of your event. I usually specialize in smaller weddings and events, and my prices are based on one photographer (it me!), but if you have a large wedding or mitzvah and want a second photographer I work with some of the best. I live in Westchester and shoot mostly in and around NY/CT/NJ, but I would be very happy to travel to your destination (seriously, fly me to the moon…or italy. Seriously.)

I lurve the gays and I believe that no human is illegal and that black lives matter. 🌈🌎✊

I shoot with top of the line Nikon equipment (Nikon D750 and Nikkor lenses).
